As you prepare your final assignment for posting this week, please pay attention to how diffuse, directional light illuminates the front of the face.
Some tips....
-Don't shoot into a light source... it helps to have the background darker than the focal point, which is the face, and specifically the eyes.
-Move in close... crop the empty space over the head to help bring the viewer's eye to the focal point.
-Quiet, calm, reflective... not hyped, no forced smiles.
-Work for directional light on the face. See Tiffany's 2nd image down from the top.
-Direct your subject to get them into a position that can meet the above qualities...
-Have Fun!
A crop of Tiffany's 2nd image... notice that holding the camera in a vertical rather than horizontal position fits the shape of a person better?
See the composition, more space in front of the face, with the head cropped on top and back..
Most of all, beautiful, directional light! Please don't show me smiley pictures in full sun... I will not be happy... :(
