” Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.” – George Eastman -
Excellent series Mark. I forget which camera you are using but it certainly is able to get in nice and close. I'm impressed by the tiny shell leading the series off. It's beautifully seen and in perfect focus. The editing is lovely and it is a perfect subject for the assignment. The sharp edge of the shell at the center of it has a perfect glow.
Bugs are hard to catch this one is perfectly seen and realized nice job.
The number three image is a home run as well. It's perfectly sharp the values are edited nicely. The one small thing that you could do to improve it would be to clone some of the foliage in the very upper right corner in order to cover up that patch of light which is a bit distracting. Photoshop has a clone tool that makes this job easy. There's also a content aware fill option which would fill it with one click.
This one is not as strong because of the very bright background… see how it sucks all the life out of the image?
This one's okay. Nice framing and composition. I'm detecting a little bit of lens flare however reducing the overall contrast.
Number six… Excellent.
Number seven nicely seen again… Do you see how the lens flare is reducing the contrast? To avoid this we we shield the lens from any direct light on it from the sun. That's where lens shades come in and or holding your hand out to block the sun.
You are nice and close in on the hydrangeas in number nine and your filling the frame makes this work nicely.
In number 10, I would've loved for you to have moved in really close to the dead and dying rose in the lower right-hand side, and explore the idea of a once beautiful rose, now in decay.
