Week 6 Stieglitz And O'Keeffe

Intense, was the first thing that came to mind as I listened and read to this love story between Stieglitz and O'Keeffe.  Writing letters 2-3 times a day, some of those letters where 40 pages long, seems very extreme!  He was very well known and established and she was younger and no where near as famous as Stieglitz when they met.  Eventually, they married and things seem to change thereafter.  O'Keefe's work becomes famous and she decides to go to New Mexico and falls in love with it. Stieglitz was worried and upset, O'Keefe chooses New Mexico, she does what's best for her and her happiness.  I feel that throughout their correspondence they grew to know one another very  intimately. They had a connection and a bond that seemed comfortable. They had trust, respect and most of all honesty.  Even if it wasn't what Stieglitz wanted to hear, O'Keefe explained her time away and I think that takes an authentic person. I wish I knew more about their love story and I would consider reading their book, might be a good summer read.
