Week 2
I documented a walk from my hosue through downtown Milford. I realize now I am too far away and didn't concentrate on shapes too well. But everyone else posted some nice stuff :)
I am in Noank Library this morning so am not creating a Soundcloud audio feed back.
These are pretty interesting though because of the evening light and how you are combining artificial and natural light. Heading to the RR station was a good choice. Starting with the bottom one, the lights on the front of the train becomes the focal point that pulls you in... the strong diagonal lines create a strong composition... Just above, see how there is a lack of light on the tracks? ...and how the light on the Milford sign is off in the upper right corner? When you shoot, take a minute to squint and see if the light and the focal point come together...
The lack of light kill the thrid up from the bottom... but the next one up is lovely, again it is all about light.
Starting at the top, yes the church is far, but the composion is all about the sky and its reflection (along with the church) in the water... the light on the church only add to the magic.
The 2nd one down has good light and interesting lines and yes would be stronger if you moved in closer and perhaps abstracted it a bit more...
I appreciate the care you put into the 5th one down, by aligning yourself to the symmetry of the lines in the sidewalk and centering the tree... All in all, a good series...
