Week 3 By The Sea
*All photos shot with iPhone X, edited in Photoshop CC
Location: Jamestown, Rhode Island
*All photos in the next set were taken with Canon 6D, edited in Photoshop CC
My main intention for this assignment was to get you to look at water and rocks as natural forms and to leave behind human made things and just deal with nature. Mid-day light is the hardest to work with on a sunny day as the light is harsh and contrasty. With that said, my favorites are the third one down as you are thinking more about the composition of how the shape of the water foam interfaces with the shale beach stone. a few more variations on that theme would make the series stronger. The buoys above that one suffer from the harsh light I mentioned... perhaps moving in closer and looking straight down to design a composition using the buoy lines would strengthen this one.
The small wave crashing in would improve by bringing the light into the center with your editing and darkening the top edge.
The next one down could also be helped by darkening the top and bottom.
The shot of the rose hips blossoms in the foreground and the sailboats on their moorings in the distance is also a favorite. That one is nicely seen and composed.
Thank you for the feedback. I have a few more that I will add to this that I took with the Canon 6D at the East Haven Town Beach that I feel better go with what you were looking for in this assignment.
Hi Tiffany... will comment more when I get home Tuesday... :)
