Woodmont by the Sea

For some reason, I could not create a new post on my home lap top. Here are some pictures I took last week at different times of the day around the Woodmont area of Milford

  1. Beautiful series here Mark.

I love how you visited the water at sunset, increasing exponentially the quality of light… And looking at an appreciating light is one of the main goals of this class.

The first picture has a wonderful reflecting light in the water from the sky. You have aligned the horizon line perfectly with the top edge of the frame. The editing is spectacular terms of gathering the light towards the center, the focal point in allowing the edges to become a bit darker.

Tilting the camera upward and image to was a good plan capturing the Siegel midflight as well as the setting sun was nicely timed… If anything I might crop a little bit up from the bottom but it's fine.

Nice job on looking at the rock forms the light in the dark as well as the water tying them together. Good framing good composition.

Beautiful evening light for image number four… I would rotate the image and make the horizon line parallel to the top of the frame.

Heading out in foggy/rainy weather is a wonderful thing to do. I like the blue tones and the misty fog. Again I would rotate the image to straighten it up.

Image number seven is a classic… The three planes of light sky water and sand, and that Ray of the layer make this a good one.

Number eight, wondering how little editing might make this one a little more dramatic… Perhaps in black and white little edge vignetting little darkening around the sky in the edges and concentrating the light towards the center would go a long ways to making this one more dynamic.

I guess by now you can tell what I might say on image nine… yes, rotate the image to get that horizon line parallel. Terms of editing I would darken the rock in the foreground, darken the sky, and bring a little light into the sharp rocks which are the focal point.

I love the foggy simplicity of this image, number 10. Nice framing. Excellent metaphor.

The last one is clean and simple site tweak to the horizon a little edge vignetting and it would improve a little bit.

    All in all nicely done.
